Charles Cook
Recovery Guide & Addiction Specialist
For over a decade, Charles has dedicated himself to supporting individuals on their recovery journeys, bringing a deeply personal and compassionate approach to his work as a Recovery Guide, Case Manager, and Addiction Specialist. Having walked his own path of healing, Charles understands firsthand the isolation, despair, and courage that come with reclaiming one’s life. His philosophy centers on connection over control, fostering trust, safety, and empowerment in the recovery process.
Charles has held diverse roles in the field, from Residential Dual-Diagnosis Program Director to Resident Manager at Promises Treatment Center, Recovery Coach at Reconnect Trauma Center, and Sober Companion to individuals navigating early recovery. Across these roles, he has worked with a wide range of clients—including high-profile professionals—helping them integrate recovery into their everyday lives in meaningful, sustainable ways.
Drawing from his expertise in addiction counseling, DBT skills, Motivational Interviewing, Vipassana meditation, core values work, and goal setting, Charles guides clients toward self-awareness and lasting change. His approach is trauma-informed, strengths-based, and client-centered, meeting individuals where they are while holding a vision for where they want to go.
As a Recovery Guide and Mentor, Charles provides one-on-one support tailored to personal goals and values, case management and care coordination to ensure clients have the right support network, and sober companionship and crisis support during transitions and high-risk periods. He also offers family guidance and education, helping loved ones understand and engage in the healing process, as well as mindfulness and meditation practices to integrate emotional regulation and resilience-building.
At the core of Charles' work is a deep belief in the power of relationships, self-discovery, and secure attachment. He knows that recovery is not just about stopping a behavior—it’s about building a life that feels worth living.
